Here are a few recent pictures.

This picture is currently my computer desktop photo. While Heather was away, I let Allegra hold her little brother all by herself (don’t tell Heather). I’m guessing she had to squeeze him pretty hard to get him to make that face.

Allegra is helping daddy wash mommy’s car. The bikini wasn’t my idea. Personally, I think she should wear a one-piece swimsuit until she’s 30.

And here’s Allie two days before her second birthday. She’s taking a nap. Normally when we put her to bed (she’s no longer in the crib) she immediately gets up and puts on her pink boots. She generally falls asleep on the floor, and we scoop her up and put her in bed. This time, she almost made it into bed herself before she fell asleep. (yes, she’s actually sleeping)

In this vignette, Allegra sings “Rock-a-bye Baby” to her little brother, Zachery.

Dad, being too lazy to get up to put the pacifier in Zachary’s mouth, teaches Allegra this important babysitting skill. There are several things I should point out: firstly, notice how Allegra continues to drink from her sippy cup with no hands; secondly, notice how she “flips her grip” on the binkie using only one hand; thirdly, notice the milk spilling out of her milk after she successfully replaced the binkie. Daddy is very proud.

Heather and I are furiously working on organizing our photos to post here. We haven’t even downloaded the photos off the camera from Zachary’s birth.
We even have a few brief video clips (one of Allie playing ‘rock a baby’ with Zachary and one of Allie playing ‘ring around the rosy.’) As soon as I can figure out how to incorporate them easily, I’ll post them here.

Looking to the future, we purchased zacharyvenable.com and allegravenable.com for our children. Both of them currently point to this page, but I presume some time in the future they may want their own web pages.

Once again, Casey and Lisa graciously offered their home for Allegra’s birthday party. Here are some pictures, taken by Grandpa Venable.
