I assume most folks who come here are frequent listeners of podcasts. I have between 90 - 120 minutes of commute time per day, so I use podcasts to keep my mind occupied. Here are the Top 5 podcasts that stand out as some of the best and most interesting in 2007.
The following are “honorable mentions.” In all fairness, these would be in my Top 5; however, they deal with very specific topics that probably aren’t of interest to anyone reading this.
Dear Mr. Federline,
okay, if you insist…
Dear K-Fed,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stu, and — I say this with the utmost certainty — I am your biggest fan. I purchased your album on iTunes … twice. It was the result of a computer glitch, but nonetheless, I was happy to part with $19.98 from the iTunes gift card I found in the Vons parking lot. You may remember several months ago, just after your CD, “Playing With Fire” was released, and you sold two copies on iTunes. That was me.
Now, you may wonder how I can say with such certainty that I am your biggest fan. “What about the throngs of tweeners and teen-aged girls who fawn over my “dope moves and hawt bod?” you may ask. They see only the showmanship, which is but a tiny fraction of the overwhelming talent you possess.
I, however, am drawn to the music: the intricate layers of rhythm, the poetry that is your lyrics and most importantly, the message.
When it comes to talent, I must say — if I may be so bold as to paraphrase your own lyrics — everything, indeed, does belong to you.
As you so eloquently stated in “America’s Most Hated”
And my dogs still down
We don’t trust them ho’s
I live life like a king
I was extra stoned
Kevin Federline
I come tight with every rhyme
I built a kingdom down the street from PepperdineThis marijuana got me heavily sedated
I’m Kevin Federline, America’s most hated.
Such poetry creates imagery that Coleridge couldn’t muster with even a dime-bag of black tar.
But I am not writing to simply fawn over your talents and collected works. I’m writing because I would like to include a few of your songs on my next podcast — preferably without being sued or written a DMCA take-down letter.
So if you can see your way to giving me permission (in writing) to include a small selection of your music, I would be most appreciative.
And believe me when I say this: unlike most music outlets, I will give your music the treatment it deserves.
Peace out,
Stu
A rejected song.

Thank you for listening. Look for the Angry Folk Christmas Extravaganza in about two weeks.
Here are some pictures I took during the recording sessions (when I remember I had a camera in the control room, which wasn’t very often).
This is where I’ve spent the last four months of my life.
Tappy and Casey (Baritone II)
Lurch and Stork (Bass)
Stork, wishing I quit with the camera and get on with the recording.
That’s right, drinking beer and Diet Pepsi at the same time.
Phil laying some keyboard tracks.
Steven kneeling before the Angryfolk beer fridge.
Stork, Lurch, Enge and Tappy preparing for some live tracks (and yes, I forgot to plug in a few mics — oops).
Tappy, Jerry, Wes and Steven during the live sessions.
